quotes stopped working after upgrading

upgraded to latest 2333 version last night. and now most of my quotes from nasdaq stopped working i use interactive brokers. these quotes were working just fine until the upgrade. some of the charts work but real time quotes dont work and for some real time quotes work but charts show errors - i also get symbol ambiguous errors too for SPY and some others. pls help! |

You need to use the necessary symbol information for Interactive Brokers. In particular, the error showing that you need to specify the currency means you need to do just that - add the currency information to the symbol so Interactive Brokers can get you the data you want. so its confusing as to if I need to do this for every symbol every time? b/c the manual shows how to do this under chart-->chart settings. or do i need to do this under Symbol Settings? b/c this thing was working fine until I updated to the latest version. at the same time, like 80% of symbols work just fine and 20% don't. ok so now i even tried to duplicate MSFT data that you have under Global Settings>>Symbol list I changed all references from MSFT to AAPL (see attached). and AAPL still dont work and as matter of fact the dang thing is pulling MSFT data and mixing with AAPL data. I see no reference to MSFT after duplicating and changing anything that read MSFT to AAPL. i also deleted all data files for aapl and msft under /data folder. and same thing. You should not have to change anything in the Symbol Settings. It is just a matter of getting the right symbol in order to satisfy Interactive Brokers. As noted above, the best option is to use the Complete Stock Symbol Format, which is of the form [stock symbol]-STK-[exchange]-[currency]. If you have trouble with the format to use, then you really need to ask Interactive Brokers what they require. At this point, you should really undo the changes you made to the symbol settings. There are some of the changes you made that you should not have, such as the Historical Chart Symbol.
