I'm a little confused by the information online about the new data feed option now available through SC. I'm currently an Infinity/AT customer but became aware of the new CME direct data feed available through Sierra Charts (I need better tick by tick data becuase I use Bid/Ask Ratio and Cumulative Delta Bars studies). I was previously a Sierra Chart direct customer so I re-activated my account and added additional funds to select the data feed option. Now I'm unclear of the package/options I'm supposed to select. What I want to be able to do is utilize the CME data feed for the e-Mini S&P contract (ES) through SC. I'll continue to use my Infinity/AT DOM for placing trades. I thought the data feed costs were going to only be $35/month. But there's a list of exchanges that I need to select that have their own cost for each. I thought having a TransAct account would waive the exchange fees. If that's not the case, I'm still not clear on which esxchange selection for CME I should be selecting. I see these two options: - Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, and NYMEX) with Market Depth for Trading accounts ($15.75) - Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, and NYMEX) for Trading accounts ($4.00) Which option should I be selecting? Do I need Market Depth for the better tick data or is that only needed if I was executing trades through SC? I also trade the Rusell emini (TF). If I want the SC data feed for that contract would I also have to select: - ICE USA for an additional $94.50? Thanks for any clarification you can provide! |

You will need this: - Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, and NYMEX) for Trading accounts ($4.00) If you want to use the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed for the TF, then you do have to pay the ICE exchange fee. If you do not pay the ICE exchange fee you will continue to get data from TransAct for that market. We would think the TransAct data feed should generally be fine for ICE. Thanks for the response. I've gone ahead and purchased the $4 option and my charts appear to be working fine. So what would be the benefit of getting the Market Depth version...purely if I were using the DOM from Sierra? Thanks! |

You would only need the market depth data if you are using market depth features within Sierra Chart. It sounds like you are not. Even if you are trading from Sierra Chart, it does not mean that you need market depth data. Only if you rely on it. A Trade DOM does not rely upon market depth window. You can still trade from that even without full market depth data. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I believe the context in which you're speaking is technically the DOM only needs 1 level (inside bid/offer) but for those who use multiple depth levels to get a sense of pending/sitting orders to potentially gauge the strength/weakness of buys vs. sells, then in that context if I wanted to see 10 levels of market depth, I would need the $16 data feed option, correct? Thanks for your responses. |

If you want to see 10 levels of depth within Sierra Chart, then you will need the 15.75 CME exchange fee option.

Now I'm confused. I have a current subscription to the level 3 package. I also have paid for and activated the Sierra Chart Real-time and Historical Futures Data Feed. But I haven't activated nor paid the SC Exchanges fee for the CME: "Full CME Group (CME, CBOT, COMEX, and NYMEX) for Trading accounts: Price 4 USD/month". I just fired up TWS and SC v1108 and opened a 30s chart for ESM4 (ES-201406-GLOBEX [M]) and am receiving real-time tick-by-tick data, not delayed or historical data. (Looking at the bar times and comparing to a similar TWS chart and TWS B/A.) So what does the extra $4/month exchange fee buy you?

You must have been a subscriber to the Sierra Chart Real-time and Historical Exchange Data feed, before March 1, in which case you pay no exchange fees until 2015 for the CME markets. As long as you continue to maintain a subscription.
