Hi, I've got the package 3 from my brokerage I use for live ATS and spread trading. Platform runs on VPS. I need to run another instance of SC on my home laptop for ATS development and backtesting purposes. I really don't want to do that on platform I use for live ATS trading. What can I do? Do I have to pay another license just for backtesting my strategies? I tried using SC with demo login in offline mode (0 days remaining) but backtesting function is disabled. Thanks for advice Tomas Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-03-25 09:54:23

Did you need to run two copies of Sierra Chart at the same time on different computers? If not, just use the same Sierra Chart login information you use on the VPS, to log into the other copy of Sierra Chart. Otherwise, you will need a direct account: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_DirectAccount.html With a direct account you can you Sierra Chart on 2 systems at the same time. We need to understand this more clearly. Are you referring to a simultaneous connection to your broker/trading service TT FIX server? Or are you referring to running more than one copy of Sierra Chart, but only one of them connected to the trading server. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. The second case you mentioned is correct .... I just need another running copy with back-testing functionality working (no need to connect to TT trading server). Sierra on my local PC works in "offline trading mode" while I have live trading copy running on VPS ... This way allows me to use market data from my VPS on local PC so there is no need to stay connected to TT price feed from both computers at the same time ... I actually found the way how to make it work ... Login on home laptop before markets open, interrupt internet connection, then I can login and connect to TT on VPS for live trading, stay offline on home laptop. Now I can backtest and develop. This way is quite uncomfortable of course so I am wondering if there is a better option ... Thanks Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-03-26 14:32:17

You need to have a direct account to do this: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_DirectAccount.html With the direct account you can use 2 or 3 ( depending upon package) copies of Sierra Chart at a time on different systems.
