It's a secondary horizontal grid line that can be used to show sub-increment lines. For instance, you could have the main grid at every point with a solid line and then the Secondary Grid could be every 1/10th point (.1) with a dashed line.

Refer to the following:
Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Number of Increments for Secondary Grid (Scale Settings)

[Feature Request]

It's a secondary horizontal grid line that can be used to show sub-increment lines. For instance, you could have the main grid at every point with a solid line and then the Secondary Grid could be every 1/10th point (.1) with a dashed line.

Could this definition be added to SC's extensive documentation indexed to the term "Secondary Grid" where appropriate?

Thank you.

I have found where to set the number of Increments and the Graphics Settings for the Secondary Grid, but I can't find how / where to activate it.

Could you please point me out to how / where to set it in a chart?

When you have the Secondary Grid Increment set to a number other than 0, then when you activate the Horizontal Grid, in general, you will also get the Secondary Grid. To display the Horizontal Grid, select Chart >> Horizontal Grid >> Region Number. Refer to the following:
Chart Menu: Horizontal Grid (Chart menu)

Hello John,

Thank you for your reply.

That is exactly what I have been doing but the Secondary Grid doesn't show at all.

Any idea why? Is it possible that it is something related with SC version I am using (2418)?

Most likely your Primary and Secondary Grid are the same size, type, and color. Check these in your Graphics Settings.

Also, keep in mind that the secondary grid is specified in whole numbers and is the number of Primary Grid increments that will be colored the secondary grid. In other words, a value of 2 will color every other primary grid the secondary grid size, type and color. Refer to the information here:
Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Number of Increments for Secondary Grid (Scale Settings)
