For background color I am using Based on AskVol/BidVol Percentage with Full Background as background type. I am using a light color for range 0 and 1 and darker colors for 2 and 3. I want my darker bars to have white text and lighter bars to have dark text. I selected Use Separate colors for text coloring method. For text coloring, I made range 2 and 3 white and 0 and 1 black. However, I don't see any text coloring method to achieve what I want. If I select Based on Askvol/Bidvol percentage for text coloring, the bid and ask text colors will be different. Is there a way to achieve what I'm looking for? If not can you add it? Thanks |

What you are trying to do should work. The only reason you would get the following: "If I select Based on Askvol/Bidvol percentage for text coloring, the bid and ask text colors will be different" is if you did not set the Up/Down colors to be the same. Make sure that the Range colors for the Text Coloring are the same for both Up and Down range colors.

According to the description here https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/NumbersBars.php#TextColoringBasedOnAskVolBidVolPercentage, the opposing side that is not dominant at that price will use the Default Text Color. I want the dominant side to choose the color for both ask and bid.

Yes, you are correct. We forgot about that. Ok, we will add this to our shortlist, as it is something that we can probably get done relatively quickly, but there are some other items that we are working on first that we need to finish, so we do not know exactly when we can get to this. We will post back in this thread when we get it changed (give us at least a few weeks). Hi, i am experiencing this same issue. Was this worked on in the end? When using Background color "Based on Askvol/Bidvol percentage", Background Type "Full Background", Range Color 0 and 1 , light colors, Range Color 2 and 3 dark colors. I set my Text Coloring up the same but with Range Color 0 and 1 as dark colors and Range 2,3 light colors. Opposite to the background color. My numbers bars text is Bid Vol x Ask Vol. I want the text coloring to work on both the bid and the ask but it only works on one side, the dominant side I know that this is documented behaviour in https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/NumbersBars.php#TextColoringBasedOnAskVolBidVolPercentage, but would it be possible to have an option to color both the bid and the ask based on text coloring method? |

We have not been able to get to this. It is still on our list of things to do, but we can not say when we will be able to get to this.

We started to look into this when we realized that this ability is already existing by using the Text Coloring option of Based on Separate AskVol BidVol Percentage. This specific coloring option is the same as AskVol BidVol Percentage, but colors both the Bid and Ask text based on their relative percentages. I still get different coloring on the text. i want light background , dark text coloring on both bid and ask, and dark background, light colored text on both bid and ask Trying your suggestion can give me background dark blue (my range 3 Up color) if the ask is a high percentage , say, but if the bid is relatively small i don't get the text coloring based on a my range 3 Up Color (white), but it ends up dark if the bid is low (range 0, 1 Down is dark text). So i get dark background, dark text on the bid (but ok white on the ask) I've given this some more thought and I think maybe what i really want is slightly different to what i previously asked for. What i'm looking for is this : New option for "Background coloring based on volume percentage and dominant side", so higher volume shading is range 2 range 3 colors, lower volume shading range 0, 1. But i want the Up or Down colors for a particular price level to be based on the dominant side. Currently there is an option for Background coloring based on Volume Percentage but it uses Up colors if the bar closed up and vice versa for down colors, and this colors the whole Bar the same. And the corollary to this is the same for text coloring , so i can color it opposite to the background coloring. New option for "Text Coloring Based on Volume Percentage and Dominant Side". Based on Volume for shading ranges, and dominant side for Up or Down Colors And for bid and ask to use same color based on which side is dominant I am achieving what i want but i have to use background coloring of "Based on Dominant Total Volume - Actual" and text coloring of "Based on Volume - Actual". Downside of that is for each market i have to add market specific volumes to the study settings to get the coloring to work. would be nice to have percentage versions of these coloring types Date Time Of Last Edit: 2022-01-12 08:44:20

We have added a new Input to the Numbers Bars called "Color Non-Dominant Ask/Bid Text Same as Opposing Side". For any text drawing type that currently displays the non-dominant text as the default color, when this Input is set to Yes, it will color the non-dominant side the same as the opposing side (same price). Note that this means that even with Diagonal comparisons, it is only coloring the same color at the same price. This change will be in the next Pre-Release (v 2345).
