Hello, How can you name or explain a number of zeros on the footprint on the right side when market is falling (please see attachment) and the opposite, number of zeros on the left side of footprint when market is moving up. I am not sure if number of zeros on the right side of footprint (on the falling) market is the result of sellers taking profit or is it the result of buyers being stopped out? And on rising sharply market I can see zeros on footprint on the left side. Is it the result of buyers closing their long positions or it is the results of those who went short and were stopped out? Could you support me on this one, please? Thank you in advance. |

This shows that aggressive orders (market orders) consumed all the available liquidity of the resting orders and moved the price in the direction of their aggressive trading without there being any opportunity for market orders in the other direction. If you want some effective and no-nonsense education on how to read the footprint raw data I recommend www.tradingresearchgroup.com. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2021-06-18 16:01:33

I'll second that recommendation. Learning what the various things in the footprint actually *mean* and so how to take advantage of them, has totally changed my trading. Footprints are nearly all I use anymore.
