This caused me some confusion today. I was trading off an ES chart that had rolled over. I was triggering off charts that had not rolled over. My rollover settings were globally set correctly. Is there another setting somewhere? |

I have the same issue. One of my charts doesn't rollover with the rest. I have to roll it over independently.

The only time a chart will automatically rollover is if the setting for Chart >> Chart Settings >> Automatically Rollover Futures Symbol is Enabled. Otherwise, you would have to manually rollover the charts. Or, if the charts are linked for the Symbol, then when the one chart automatically rolls over, the others will change to the new symbol. Again, otherwise, if you do not have them linked, then you would need to manually roll over the other charts. This is happening to me right now. I have a couple dozen charts in my chartbook, my primary ones that I trade from, are all set to manual roll so I'm always aware of what's going on with contract months. The other "helper" charts are all set to auto roll. This morning, none of the helper charts auto rolled. They are all sitting there wanting me to roll manually, and every one of them is set to automatically roll. I rolled my (linked) primary charts manually, and they are all fine. What would be causing this? Again, all the helpers are set to auto roll, they are also linked by symbol. I will roll them for now manually by rolling one of the linked charts, but I'd like to understand why this can occur. |

Same issue. All charts set to auto-roll on date based rollover but have to manually do them all. SC 2543. |

The first thing to consider is whether you have "Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Detect Rollover of Current Futures Contract Symbols Based on Real-Time Volume" and also the setting for "Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Additional Days to Add to Rollover Date For Chart and Quote Board Rollovers". Refer to the information at the following links for these: General Settings Window: Detect Rollover Of Current Futures Contracts Symbols Based On Real Time Volume (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Symbol) General Settings Window: Additional Days to Add to Rollover Date for Chart and Quote Board Rollovers (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Charts >> Charts) And then there is the setting in the Symbol Settings for when to rollover. For the primary products from the CME exchange (ES, YM, NQ) this is set to "1 Calendar Day before the 3rd Friday of the Contract Month" by default. This would be September 14, 2023 for the current contract. For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
