Hello, I was hoping I could get you guys to add a a feature that could be used for the moving average as well as atr etc or any study really but to keep it simple and to start let us use the moving average. ALL MOVING AVERAGES that i have seen on sierra chart are period specific meaning you must state a ROLLING period of time or number of bars. What I am asking for would be an expanded moving average or one that just keeps adding to itself all day long starting with a specific start time or start with a specific look back bar period. I.e. 1 minute bar chart. I set my look back or start time to 9.30 so at 9.30 it starte keeping a RUNNING or expanded moving average as bars are printed into and or past the close. it is a true runnign moving average. now if i was using bars you could also just usa a bar count from when you start it. i.e. what if i want the running tally of the actual MEAN to start at 3 am. well if it is a 1 minute chart then i would start it at the time of 3 am. etc and it would print a running moving average every minute of the actual MEAN versus a rolling mean. this would be the same if using 1 5 10 20 daily moving averages. I can do this with a spread sheet study on my own of course but it would be a nice feature or study to add and we could also do it for all the other studies as well including the atr or macd etc but for right now it would be nice to have an indicator that just thows the actual mean and draws a line for the actual mean of the market as prices roll in thank you have a great day |

this is also known as a CUMMulative moving average and is the same thing you get if you just do an average in excel for every cell that populates from your data based on your time period
