Number Bars background coloring cuts off volume numbers

Is there a setting that will keep the background width the same as the numbers in the bars? (See attached). I've lowered my font size to 4 to try and keep the numbers from being eclipsed, but too low of a font size makes the bars unreadable.

You have to change the bar spacing to be able to see the numbers the way you want. There is no automatic method to do this.
