I solved this by: - downloading Visual studio 19 community edition - then installing the C++ standard set of checkboxes plus the buildtool checkbox all the way at the bottom (i dont remember this exactly, but i think it was build 14.0, anyway the last/bottom box on my laptop) - downloaded latest SC version, which was a reload of 2264 so this step is probably unnecessary. Was able to successfully compile on SC, without trying the SC " install visual C++ compiler". Soo, this method of simply installing visual studio 2019 community edition worked. Wasted an hour on trying other options like VS 2015, build tools version 14?, uninstalling everything related to VS and using SC compiler install (VS couldnt find the package..), and perhaps a clean install of 2019 made a difference, but i suspect the C++ with the build tools options is the key. |
