Do I have to leave my spreadsheet open for the Spreadsheet Alert to work proporly?

If I close my spreadsheet, I'm assuming the signal won't show up anymore? I'm getting the message, "This spreadsheet cannot be closed since a study is referencing it. Do you want to remove the study that references this spreadsheet?" |

Correct. If you close the spreadsheet that is setup for a signal of some type, then you will not get that signal. I'm getting the message, "This spreadsheet cannot be closed since a study is referencing it. Do you want to remove the study that references this spreadsheet?"
You are trying to close the spreadsheet directly that is part of the a Spreadsheet Study. It is best to remove the study from the chart, which will remove the Spreadsheet as well.
