Hi, I have two charts that are detached; one is a footprint (minute based) chart and one is a candlestick chart (minute based). Both charts are linked to a quote board that has symbols from the CME/CBOT/NYMEX/COMEX etc. Whenever I change symbol, the charts are squashed (footprint and candlesticks are unreadable) or one or both are off the screen (price is above/below the top/bottom of the chart). Is there a settings (I have tried many combinations in the Scale Setting window) that would spare me from re-arranging the scale of the chart every time I change symbol please? Thank you Regards |

What you are asking for should work if the Scale is set to Automatic. Make sure the scaling is set to Automatic for those charts and let us know if you continue to have issues when changing symbols. Thank you for your response; i tried both options; - Scale set to Automatic or - Scale set to Constant Range (with "Constant Range Scale Mode" set to "Keep the last bar within view (4 ticks off the edge)" It does not improve or fix the issue; when i change symbol; - the footprint and the bar charts are both usually squashed and i need to reset the scale manually to make them readable - the footprint and the bar charts can be off-screen - when i double-click on the Y-axis (price) (to re-centre) the footprint and/or the bar chart get squashed as well Also, please note that there does not seem to be any consistency with this issue. Thank you Regards |

If your scales are set to Automatic and the chart gets "squashed" when you change scale, then that implies that there is a study on the chart that is also set to Automatic scaling, therefore the scales are trying to show you the data for everything that is in the chart. Refer to the following: Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Opening the Scale Settings Window For a Study And also the following: Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Basing Scale Only on Price Bars For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
