Good day,

Does Sierra support crosshairs for both the DOM and its corresponding chart? I read some thread about this but there doesn't seem to be a follow-up.

Thank you.

No this is not supported but we could probably add support for this.

Please do so Sc team. We were under the impression that this would be implemented. Would be a helpfull addition. Just a simple toggle on/off in the dom menu would do.

This has been added a while ago. At least two months ago. Here is the setting to control this:
Chart Settings: Support Chart Values Tool for Trading DOM Mode (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu)

In the next release we will also add a new command to the Trading DOM menu to enable the Chart Values tool.

Is there any ability to incorporate the global cursor function into the trading DOM, so that when the crosshair is moved up and down on the DOM the level is reflected on the corresponding charts? Similar to what can be achieved with the chart DOM. This would be a handy feature. I tend to prefer the trading DOM over the chart DOM for its improved customizability. Being able to see the price level reflected across charts would be great.

Yes this is supported. Update to latest version of Sierra Chart:

Software Download: Fast Update

And Enable:
Chart Settings: Support Chart Values Tool for Trading DOM Mode (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu)

I can't figure out how to get this working. What am I doing wrong?

In an open chart I go to File >> Open Trading DOM for chart. Then enable this setting on both the chart and the DOM. Then don't see cursor on chart when hovering over price in the DOM. Am I not understanding this setting?

Try enabling the Tools >> Global Cursor On option.

That worked thanks. How do I change the background color and text color of the highlighted box that shows up on the DOM when hovering on chart?

Hi, is it possible to switch off the crosshair vertical line on the Trade Dom?

You can turn it off for all charts, but not for a single chart. To turn it off for all charts refer to the following:
Chart Drawing Tools: Show Crosshair Vertical Line (Tool Settings >> Chart Values >> Chart Values)

Hi John, thanks, I know that... is it possible to turn off the vertical line at the Trade Dom? No one needs that.

RIFT:

Actually, there is a very simple hack that you can try:

After enabling the crosshair on the standalone DOM, go to the Graphics Settings of the DOM and set the line type of the crosshair to a non-solid line type AND a line-width value greater than 1.

This will entirely disable the crosshair on the DOM, but will still keep the highlighting on the DOM's price scale.
This way all the crosshair movements will be reflected on other charts, but the DOM will stay clean.

I covered this hack in a short video recently - hope it helps in your case.

@Ticinotrader

Thanks, the trick doesn't work for me. But you're right, you only need the price box, you don't need horizontal and vertical lines on Dom.

It would be great if SC engineering would inactivate both lines. Thanks!

The chart/dom crosshair sync is something I really want to work. Got the settings figured out I think but for some reason, when I click the crosshairs on the dom, it makes my chart jump back several days. Got it to work a couple times with the chart zoomed out really far. Can see that it kinda works but not sure what kinda glitch I got going on.

ok i just spent a few days trying to figure this out. finally got it to work by not only synchronizing charts but also enabling the synchronize linked charts only option under tools. for some reason my DOM kept throwing my chart way back. im sure theres a setting that i need to adjust that has to do with the time period. maybe thatll help someone else cause that was a headache. day 5 of my trial and i havent left the screen. amazing platform if you put the time into figuring it out
