Is Sierra Chart still competitive in 2021?

My question is, Is Sierra Chart still competitive in 2021 compared to the competition? See, last year with AMP I was paying $3 / month for data and this included Sierra Chart Package 3. Everything was great. Now, come April 2021 I need to pay $36 to use Sierra and $3.25 in exchange fees so it is about $40 / month. Now, compare $3 a month to $40 a month. Just to use Sierra now, the price increased over 1300% within the last couple of months. This is just mind boggling. It does not make any sense for such a steep price hike. I know that you wrote that this is still a great deal and still cheaper compared to other options out there, but then I researched this and found that this statement is just not true. So basically, to use Sierra Chart for trading for the next year will cost me about $480. I can take this $480, deposit it with the NinjaTrader Brokerage to fund a new account, and they provide free use of NinjaTrader and data included if you have a funded account. So that $480, instead of paying to use Sierra Chart, I can fund an account with NinjaTrader and have $480 to trade with off the bat. Now my head is scratching. Do you understand where I am getting at? Sierra Chart is a good platform, but so is Ninja, and it is a heck of a lot cheaper to go with Ninja now. My only intent here is, I don't really understand Sierra Chart's position with being competitive with other products now. Sierra Chart has become more expensive than the competition and it doesn't take a genius to figure this out, but this will most likely lead to losing customer base. I like Sierra Chart, but now am really considering jumping ship. |
