The following has happened: 1. I have entered a trade in this case a long trade (=1st trade) 2. Shortly after that I entered a second trade in the same direction, also long, this is the add-on trade. This trade has a narrow stop. 3. The add-on trade got stopped out quickly. 4. Then something seems to happen that I dont understand and I tink should nog happen: the add-on trade which got stopped out, still keeps running. But the 1st trade, which did not get stooped out, is somehow cancelled by the system. It results in the situation where the add-on trade still runs, but with the targets and stops of the 1st trade. See also the three attached screenshots of the charts corresponding to the situation as discribed above. I will also post screenshots of the trade management settings that I have used in the trades described. Thsi will be in another thread since I could not upload more screenshots in this message. What went wrong and what is the solution? |

What happened is simply that the system matched your orders based on a First In First Out method. So the first order fill you had was the first one out when it hit the "narrow stop". What you need to make sure you understand is that this really does not make a difference to the final calculation. If you look at your Flat to Flat position, your Profit/Loss will be correct. Refer to the following: Trade Activity Log: Order Fill Matching and Flat to Flat Definition Also, as noted in the section above, you can change your fill matching method, but this may not be appropriate for all situations. Still, refer to the following: Chart Settings: Use Last In First Out Fill Matching (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Trading menu) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |
