Overlay Bar Study changes Source Bar Time

Hello: I am trying to overlay a 15 min OHLC (main price) bar onto a 5 min chart. As instructed in the Overlay Bar study page https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?page=doc/StudiesReference.php&ID=100#Overlay_-_Bar - (Fig A) I opened the charts side by side - (Fig B) Then, in the destination (5 min) chart, I added the overlay bar study with 15 min as input. However, as soon as I do this, the 15 min chart changes its time period to 5 min. This is very strange as I do not do any operation on the 15 min chart. Are my inputs to the Overlay chart ok? - As the 15 min chart becomes a 5 min chart, the Subgraph 5 (in the 5 min chart) now displays another 5 min chart. I wanted a 15 min OHLC bar chart here. - (Fig C) If I try to restore the time period of the original 15 min (from 5 min) to 15 min, I get an error, "You have performed an operation that cannot be completed because this chart is being referenced by studies in other charts in the Chartbook. Do you wish to clear those references?" - The only way for me to restore the 15 min chart to the original state is to delete the Overlay bar study. Can you please help me understand the proper settings over the Overlay Bar study? On a sidenote, I have tried the Add Additional Symbol study but don't think that suits my needs here as I want higher time scale charts, not a different symbol at the same time frame. |
