Hi

I currently have the $36 a month Sierra Chart package and I use futures market data from my Gain login , and trade futures in my Gain account via SC.

Can you help with the additional setup i would need to do the following:

1) Continue trading futures in my Gain account from SC
2) Market data for all CME products without symbol limitations (my Gain market data is limiting me)
3) Market data and trade VIX futures (CFE)
4) Market data for CME futures options
5) If possible , trade future options from SC (in my Gain account)

I have read all the documentation regarding Denali and Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed, but still a little unsure what my best setup would be. Here is what i think the answer is but would like confirmation/correcting:

1) Have two Sierra Chart instances. One with Denali Exchange Data Feed for CME products, one with Gain's data feed for VIX futures. (Denali Doesn't support CFE futures)
2) The Denali instance will be able to chart future options.
3) Both instances will use Gain's trade service. However , does the Gain trade service support trading of future options?

thanks

The issue of needing 2 instances of Sierra Chart is really about accessing the Options data and not about the data from Gain. We'll explain as we go through your items.

1) Continue trading futures in my Gain account from SC: Not a problem

2) Market data for all CME products without symbol limitations (my Gain market data is limiting me): This is available in the Denali Exchange Data Feed. Refer to the information here:
Denali Exchange Data Feed

3) Market data and trade VIX futures (CFE): You can get the data for the CFE through the Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed. Refer to the information here:
Sierra Chart Exchange Data Feed

4) Market data for CME futures options. This is available as part of the data from the Denali Exchange Data Feed, but you can only access this data when your Service is set to SC Data - All Services. Refer to the information here:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart: Futures Options

5) If possible , trade future options from SC (in my Gain account): Not supported due to the data restriction above.

As you can see from the above information, you can get your data from us, or you can get the CME Data from us and the CFE from GAIN, but in either case you do not need to have a separate installation.

Since the Options data is only available when your Service is set to "SC Data - All Services", you may want to have a separate installation to receive that data without having to change your service back and forth. Refer to the following for installing another Sierra Chart:

thanks for the explanation John.

I like to use Custom Calculated Symbols (for futures spreads), and i have a few setup using my Gain data. How do i switch these across to the Denali data? Do i have to delete all the data files and re-open charts to download the data? And then it will automatically use Denali data in the Custom Calculated Symbol?

To begin with, if you switch from Gain data to the Denali Exchange Data Feed, then you would keep the same symbols, so you would just move forward with the new data. If you wanted to delete the old data and have the chart reload with just the Denali data, then you would want to use the command Edit >> Delete All Data and Download. You would need to do this for each symbol, not for each chart.

The same information applies to the Custom Calculated Symbols.

For information on the Delete All Data and Download command, refer to the following:
Edit Menu: Edit >> Delete All Data And Download
For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service:
