More OEC Woes.....

Can somebody please take a look at the NG futures. I am SIM trading them through OEC and each tick is worth 0.001 $. Not quite right....

If you guys can't get SC working with OEC without me having to come to this forum for help 1-3 times PER DAY, then this is clearly not the platform that I will be able to trade with going forward.

I am not paid to be your beta tester.

In this particular case the Currency Value per Tick was not set for natural gas for OEC. We have set it now.

Update the symbol settings as explained here to get the updated settings:

We also recommend using version 1078 to avoid any problems related to the FIX connection. It can be downloaded from here:

Ok, so the woes continue.....

Now, I am being told I have to roll-over the NG March contract as it has expired.... I don't think so......?!

As for downloading version 1078, only yesterday morning SC advised me to download the latest PR version, as this seems to have fixed the issues (obviously not).

I am confused and REALLY annoyed. I am paying for this software. If you want me to become a beta tester and give me the s/w for free, I MIGHT consider that (although I would much rather have software that work and pay for it).

But the status quo is not an option. I do not have time to post here 2-3 times per day because you guys (and OEC) can't get your act together.

You can rollover the futures contract whatever you want. It is getting very close to the point in time where you must rollover. The rollover notice has nothing to do with any particular Sierra Chart version or anything to do with OEC.

You do not have to use version 1078. There is nothing presented in this thread that indicates you need to use that version. We just simply said if there any problems related to the FIX connection which is still relatively new, you can go back to version 1078, but there are no problems presented in this thread related to this.

And you are not considered a beta tester.

What does this mean? It certainly means nothing to us because it does not tell us anything. Please be very specific about any outstanding problem. Please do not take a notice about rolling over a commodity futures contract which is getting very close to the point in time where you must rollover, and blow it out of proportion. Just ignore it. It is just nothing more than an informational message which disappears after 30 seconds.

According to the CME contract specifications for Natural gas, the rollover notice one day before the last trading day is quite reasonable:

Trading of any delivery month shall cease three (3) business days prior to the first day of the delivery month. In the event that the official Exchange holiday schedule changes subsequent to the listing of a Natural Gas futures, the originally listed expiration date shall remain in effect. In the event that the originally listed expiration day is declared a holiday, expiration will move to the business day immediately prior.

For your information, if you are still trading March natural gas, you should be out by now:
Volume based rollover from NGH14 to NGJ14 occurs at 2014-02-21

You are already late. And you certainly do not want to be either long or short a commodity futures contract which is physically delivered, when you start getting into the delivery month. So the rollover notice in Sierra Chart was late. We see that we need to make it earlier.
