Occasionally I get this problem, and I've never been able to figure out a remedy. Sometimes, a charts price scale will be unnecessarily wide. In the attached screenshot, you can see how there is extra unused space to the right of the scale increments. How do I make sure the price column is adjusted to the proper width? I have quite a few smaller screens for different metrics and internals, and getting the most out of these is pretty important to me

I'm seeing this issue as well when I'm switching between different equities tickers. Every time I switch the y-axis gets very, very and then I have to adjust the axis to come even remotely close to the actual prices being traded. Is there a way to automatically have the y-axis near price when a new ticker is loaded?

jsandlan: It sounds like you are saying that the prices are not correct when you change symbols. If this is the case, then what is your "Scale Range" set to in your Scale Settings? Refer to the following for what we are looking for: Chart Scale and Scale Adjusting: Scale Range (Scale Settings) For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Hi John, Prices are correct. The issue was that when I switch to different equities the scale is sometimes so wide that no matter the range from high to low in the bars all you see is a very thin line of price action that you have to zoom way into to see anything actionable. I did find that setting Scale Settings > Scale Range > Constant Range > Range to 10 improved the issue dramatically though if the ticker is very cheap ie $1 it's still necessary to zoom way in on the y-axis to be able to make sense of the price action. Higher priced stocks are at least zoomed in enough that a small adjustment gets the price looking great. Is it possible to have the y-axis automatically scale no matter the price and have the recent price action in view in a way that is easy to see? I've attached a screenshot showing the issue. Here, MSTR looks fine though I do have to zoom out. ASST is what everything looked like when switching tickers before setting Constant Range to 10. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-01-22 23:38:19

The reason you are having this issue is because your Scale Range is set to "Constant Range". So the system is always keeping a range of 10, which does not work for all instruments. Set the Scale Range to "Automatic" to have it automatically adjust to the actual data for each instrument.
