HELLO SIERRA, I have a couple questions about custom symbols and for example sake i will be using contracts of crude oil say March 2021 and unleaded gasoline say march 2021 and I understand that you cannot get the exact volumes in custome symbols that add or subtract from each other however I was wondering what volumes the custom symbols are actually showing? I asked this question or a very similar one months ago and still no answer. Please do not get bogged down in the nomenclature of my symbols ok. How is this volume being calculated and does this volume change based on a multiplier? example = CLh21-rbh21 = volume (no multiplier) how is volume figured in this symbol? multiplier volume= 3*clh32-2*rbh21 does this one multiply volume by 3 in cl and subtract volume x2 for RBh21? I am not looking for "spread volume" because we do not know what people are doing with the trades however is there a way to to use say crude oil volume as my marker or based on for the custom symbol? example CLH21 traded 500 lots in 1 minute RBh21 traded 200 lots in 1 minute. so does this mean that CLH21+RBh21= 500 + 200 lots so volume = 700 lots this was additive. same idea however subtract= clh21-rbh21= 700-200= 500 volume? I am trying to figure out how custom symbols get a volume number Thank you in advance. |

I had another question about volume and also a request. Now that I understand where the volume numbers come from which is a big help I was wondering if there is a way to get it show ONLY TRADED volume of the 1 st symbol in the custom symbol? This way I could create a cchart for numerous symbols together based on a consant volume chart of the st symbol/ Make sense? IF the symbol was say March crude - DEC crude then I put a 2000 constant volume chart on my custom symbol then the symbol would draw a bar everytime the MARCH Crude traded 2000 contracts. It would only grab the price point on the december one at tha point to create my constant volume chart. This way I could easily do this for multiple symbols but it would by default only look at the 1st contract traded volume? Woould there be a way for you guys to set this up under the PARAMETERS under the Global Settings -Custom SYMBOLS then in custom symbols we could have a DROP DOWN menu that says deault volume 1 st symbol traded actual volume 1st and 2nd symbol traded actual volume ( Or ALL DYMBOLS) actual traded volume incase more than 2. this would be a fantastic addition to his study. If you like the idea and need mor clarification here it is: CLh21-CLz21 default volume = your current tot vol plus bids asks etc 1st symbol traded volume= would be basing the custom symbol chart off of the traded volume of 1st symbol only ALL symbol trade volume. We as users can manipulate the 1st symbol manually so these 3 woould work very well as far as choices i.e. CLH21-CLz21 could be rewritten as clz21-clh21 in order to run it off of the 1st symbol. Thank you and appreciate your time. |

Is there a way to get actual volume of 1 of my symbols and use that constant volume to build my custom symbol chart. Using bids and asks and volumes is just not representative of much other than a bunch of noise being thrown at the custom symbol. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thank you |
