The Binance market data feed is now available. This is for market data only.

It is available when Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service is set to SC Data-All Services.

Follow the instructions here to update the Symbol Settings:
Global Symbol Settings: Update Global Symbol Settings

You can access the symbols through File >> Find Symbol >> Binance >> (Get Binance Symbols) >> Get Symbols [button].

For more information, refer to:
Cryptocurrency / Bitcoin Data and Trading Services: Setup Instructions

The Binance symbols can also be accessed when using various other Trading services. Specifically the ones that also provide access to BitMex symbols.

Historical data is only being maintained as of December 18, 2020. Not earlier. We have no other prior data for the Binance symbols.

The most actively traded Binance symbol is:
BTCUSDT-BINANCE

We have seen some issues with market depth data from Binance and as we continue to monitor we will see how best to resolve this.

Another thing to be aware of is that Binance uses fractional quantities. Sierra Chart does not have support for fractional quantities for trades. Fractional quantities are supported for orders and market depth data but not for trades. So what we do is we multiply the quantity by 1,000,000 in order to shift the values to the right of the decimal point over to the left and the portion to the left of the decimal point is what is used as the quantity.

In some cases this may not be sufficiently large enough of a value and in other cases, it is too large of a value. At this point in time we just do not have a good solution to this and we do not think we ever will. There just is not a proper way to solve this without support for fractional quantities.

We may change the multiplier to 10,000 as we typically have used in the past.

Awesome

Just to clarify is this only for the spot exchange (Binance)?

Do you plan to add Binance Futures (USDT Perpetuals) in the future? They're the most traded instruments. - https://www.binance.com/en/futures/BTC_USDT

Here is the list of perpetual futures - https://www.coingecko.com/en/exchanges/binance_futures

Great news. +1 on Perp futures, they are the most traded ones.

Yes these are accessible in the list of symbols. That is one of the symbols we gave in post #1.

They are all included.

I can't find the futures products. They're definitely the spot markets after comparing them.

Compare this (spot) to the BTC in Sierra - https://www.binance.com/en/trade/BTC_USDT

This is the futures Perp - https://www.binance.com/en/futures/BTC_USDT

Honest mistake, because I know crypto has so many nuiances/confusing quirks compared to traditional futures.

We will make sure the futures are included. Give us a couple of days on this. We need to research this.

We will also be adjusting the quantity/volume multiplier down to 10,000.

Also, for the record we have absolutely no technical regard at all for Binance. The technical aspects of it are poorly designed and substandard and inefficient.

The technology we offer through our own data feeds, is monumentally superior and high-performance by comparison.

So how's it going with that Sierra Exchange thing?
[2020-12-19 07:50:07]
Sierra Chart Engineering - Posts: 104368
The plan for a new exchange and this was meant to be an exchange that had precious metals as a backing, and only involved precious metals and crypto currencies and not any government currencies, was placed on hold so we could focus on our core business which is very important.

Gradually though, we have been working on all of the technical functionality for the exchange and should be completing that over the next few months.

And then we will have a look again at the exchange this year to see what we can do.

but y guys kicked out deribit..right?

Sierra Chart Engineering - Posts: 104368
Deribit market data is still supported. There have been no changes with Deribit. Although we did remove option symbols because we had too many problems with requesting market data from their systems for a large number of symbols.

There was no problem previously but what started to happen is they made changes, Deribit, where they were disconnecting every time we would make a significant number of requests for market data upon the connection. So then we would space these out significantly even over an hour and we would still get disconnected. The whole thing was plain silly.

So everything was fine and stable in the beginning and Sierra Chart would always interact very efficiently with the Deribit system but then they made changes which caused disconnections further causing endless connections and requests and therefore creating the exact problem they were trying to solve. The whole thing is just plain ridiculous and a waste of our time.

This is why all these crypto currency services not worth our time. And why we will never never ever provide trading support for a crypto currency exchange. Never going to happen at all. That is a monumental waste of our time and endless ongoing support.

We will look at decentralized trading and market data which we very much want to support.

The only trading that makes sense is decentralized trading, but it does have the issue of not being able to use leverage if it is truly decentralized.

And once again we are reaffirming, that we are massively unimpressed with Binance.

We should have the futures implemented later this evening.

What we see though is the symbols are the same as the non-futures data feed. This is very odd. So we have to add some other identifier like -FUT to them.

We have the Binance futures data now available.

You can search for the symbols as explained at step 7 here:
Cryptocurrency / Bitcoin Data and Trading Services: Setup Instructions

This is an example symbol:
BTCUSDT_FUT_BINANCE

The futures data is going to work much more reliably. The spot data, really is very problematic on the Binance side. Once a connection is established, it takes a few minutes for data to even be received. Therefore, sometimes you will notice missing and stopped data when there is a reconnection on our systems. Please keep that in mind.

And all volume/quantity values are multiplied by 10,000.

The spot data feed from Binance is essentially not functional. We probably are just going to drop it. It is completely ridiculous. There is no way to describe this other than it is trash. This is just completely ridiculous and absurd. We are just wasting time with this. Do not expect this from Sierra Chart.

The whole reason Binance took such a long time, is because we did not want to get involved with it. And this is now being reaffirmed as the all the stupid problems we are dealing with.

Does this look good:

Binance is only proving ourselves right with what we have to say. Look at that data error. That just simply never happens on any exchange. And now we see this with Binance.

And critically think about this alleged "maintenance". That should never happen. They should have other systems always operational in parallel for order matching and market data.

Regarding the data errors like this with Binance:
http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=1608569028889.png

We have verified, that there is no problem on the Sierra Chart side regarding this. However, we are going to see if there are any fields of information in the trade messages which would indicate a particular trade should not be processed.

If this turns out to be an ongoing issue, these errors are not going to be anything we are going to take the time to remove.
