I run into this issue where I use a footprint chart with a market depth historical graph study to highlight resting bid/ask orders, I notice when i compress my detached window of the specific chart and just use half of the screen on one monitor I lose most of the market depth orders that are resting, they no longer become visible on the compressed window but when you expand the window back to full size the levels will display again, Is there a setting that can help with this issue ? Thanks |

When that is happening, it means that you do not have any actual Market Depth in that time frame and you have the option for Extend Last Known Depth set to Yes. In this situation, when the last bar that has known depth (to the left) is not displayed, then it is not possible to extend the depth forward, hence the reason for the blank area at times. Since you are using the Denali Exchange Data Feed, you should be able to fill in the missing Market Depth Data since the last 15 days of Market Depth is available. Refer to the following information for how to get the actual data into the chart: Version 2198: Support For Historical Market Depth Data With Denali/Delayed Exchange Feeds For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing |

Okay thank you that makes sense, after scrolling back and forth and readjusting the window size to see if that was the issue it does in fact disappear when the bar goes out of the picture, The particular chart is a very low timeframe chart so the resting orders shown will disappear quickly so that being the only issue... In regards to the thread I have a couple questions on that, Since I wouldn't say the levels are "missing" anymore and in fact it is the window size problem is this strategy from the thread in regards to fixing a "missing levels" problem or is it a way to show the levels that disappear in regards to the window size ? Only reason I ask is because if its about fixing "missing" levels I wouldn't say thats my problem and I can disregard that... If not and its about the other issue then I need to make sure I have the right version of sierra charts downloaded in regards to this quote i got from the thread "It is imperative, that you are running version 2198 before enabling this option. Some earlier versions have it but it is not regarded as safe to use it in an earlier version." |

It sounds like this is about Missing Data, since there appears to be missing market depth data for some of the bars in your chart. But, since you say that this is a very low timeframe chart, there are other things that could be happening. What is the timeframe of your chart? Also, please attach a screenshot of the chart so we can see what you are seeing. Also, our servers are showing that you are running version 2207, which is the current Release version, so you should not need to update, but double check to make sure that is the case (especially if you happen to run multiple installations). No I apologize if you misunderstood me, the problem was in fact the size of the window and the bars that were no longer in the chart it would not show the resting orders there if it once appeared whenever that particular bar started but the bar no longer is in the window because of the time that has passed and you also had mentioned there being no other way around that because the study cant not detect what is not visible so I will just have to keep an open mind about that and be aware of it if im going to use a smaller window chart. I guess a better question is there a different study or setting I can change in the market depth study that will be able to show resting liquidity even if the bar is no longer in the chart ? |

In answer to your last question, the answer is no, there is no way to show the Market Depth if the bar is no longer displayed in the chart.
