Good day!

As from above, after installation of the current version 9, I have to point mouse on the text, and only then can the text be read. How to restore it to the previous set up with white background, please.

It sounds like the setting for General Text Window Background has been changed to black. Go to Global Settings >> Graphics Settings - Global and select that item from the list and change the setting to white (or other color that you want). Refer to the information here:
