Study/Price overlay offset by 1 bar?

I'm trying to understand how to properly use the study / price overlay study. My source chart is a higher timeframe from my destination (all data on the source is calculated on bar close). In all configuration of data copy mode and bar time matching mode settings, it appears as though the data is offset by one source bar (as in I see data from the future in my destination chart) unless I run a chart replay. If I run the study in a chart replay, the data makes sense. On the right edge, For example (let's say my source chart is a one hour and my destination is a 5 minute), at 3:05 PM I am seeing calculations from the 2 PM source bar copied over to the 3:05 PM destination bar. This makes sense since the 3 PM source bar is still forming. However, if I don't do a replay and simply load both charts, the 3:05 PM destination bar contains calculations from the 3 PM source bar (which would be calculations from the future since that calculations wouldn't be populated until the 3 PM source bar completes at 4 PM clock time). The only solution (I haven't tried it and it is kind of janky) I can think of is if I double the subgraphs on my source chart with half of the subgraphs being a 1 bar offset of the other. This way when I simply load the charts (not doing a replay), the data from the 3PM source chart being copied over to the 3:05 PM destination wouldn't be actual calculations on the 3 PM source chart but a deferred copy of the 2 PM source bar's data. Is there a better approach / am I setting up the study / price overlay incorrectly? THanks! |
