Older versions of Sierra Chart have an option to choose the London relay server for market data when using the Sierra Chart Order Routing Service or the SC Data-All Services service. This option was in the Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Service Setting section. It has been removed because if you are in Europe, the London data server is one of the servers available in the pool of servers provided to Sierra Chart. There is no need to specifically select it anymore. However, if you are running an older version of Sierra Chart, and have chosen to use the London data server, you need to update due to a configuration change on that server, to be able to still have it available for market data from the Denali Exchange Data Feed. We are also updating that server, to a considerably more powerful server and it will become the primary server for the European users of the Sierra Chart data feeds. We expect to complete the update this weekend if there are no technical problems. Unrelated to this, we are going to be setting up a server in Frankfurt Germany to be used for market data from the EUREX and also EUREX order routing. We expect this to be completed over the next 60 days. If you keep Sierra Chart continuously running like on a laptop computer and you move to a different continent on the earth you should restart Sierra Chart when connected in the new location, to get the updated server addresses which correspond to your location. We want to post an issue that occurred with our London data server early Monday morning (2020-11-09). It had gone down for several hours. What we discovered, is that the Internet connectivity was removed by the hosting service. This is a leased server in a London data center. The problem was that the payment for the server was late by one day and there was an automatic disconnection. We have now set up automatic payments for this server. We also want to say that all of our other servers, do not have a billing arrangement like this where they get terminated for a delayed payment. It is not normal for us to ever be behind on server payments, and if we ever were with our other servers, we would be contacted by the service providers related to those. In this case of the London data server was nothing more than a temporary oversight of the deadline, by one day. Anyway, that server was brought back up within one minute after the payment was made. We do have full redundancy in place. So there was no practical impact, other than for two LMAX connections, the LMAX New Zealand trading and the LMAX demo trading connections. We are adding redundancy for those. ---- This server also is used for our TT based order routing service for those users who choose to use it. We did not see any impact related to that due to this outage. Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users.
