Dear Sierra, I think the new statistics in the newly upgraded TPO-study are not calculated correctly. Not correct for: 1. Volume above/bellow TPO POC And 2. Volume above/bellow POC a) See the Picture bellow, I marked everything and the settings are also shown. https://up.picr.de/39691511hi.png b) Other settings: Denali Datafed Smybol: GGZ20 Session: 09:00:00 - 17:29:59 Timezone Germany, Europe +1 CET The Picture Shows the Dates from 15. October 2020 and 16. October 2020 c) I would assume the sum of the Volume should be the same, but is not. Sierra calculates different Sum of Volume for: 1. above/bellow TPO POC 2. Volume above/bellow POC 3. And to be even more confused, the sum of the VbP-Study shows also a different Sum from the two mentioned before. Can you look into this please? Thanks. Best regards M |

We do not see any problem here. The volume at the point of control price level itself is not included. And the point of control is different for a TPO profile as compared to a Volume profile.

Dear Sierra, Please see the Documentation, just for clarification how this works: Time Price Opportunity (TPO) Profile Charts see: "TPO Profile Text Information Descriptions" Volume Above/Below POC:
This displays the volume traded above and below the POC Price. When this value is directly displayed on the chart and the label is used, the value is prefaced with VA/BP:. "the value is prefaced with VA/BP" --> Does that mean, you are Comparing just the volume in the Value Area and not the whole Session-Volume? Then this VA is Split bellow POC or TPO POC? If this correct? Then it wasn’t was I was First intended to accomplish, as I was the one who requested it initially. Thanks for clarification Best regards M |

The terminology of "VA/BP" stands for "Volume Above/Below POC". It doesn't have anything to do with the Value Area.

Dear Sierra, Thank you for your Reply. SierraChart is such a great Product, but I am a Market Profile (TPO) heavy user for the last 5 years. I exactly know what "Volume Above/Below POC" means and for that your calculation of the statistics is wrong. Your statement from Post #4 would not be wrong if you would take just the Value Area as the total volume – that was my question. If you are not taking the VA-Volume(= Value Area Volume) for the total calculation then the three volumes (volume sum) on my picture need to be the same. https://up.picr.de/39691511hi.png Please look at my picture again and calculate manually the sum of the volume. The numbers just don't match. If you need any further/explanation help, gladly willing to assist you. Best regards M Date Time Of Last Edit: 2020-10-21 14:26:51

The reason for the discrepancy between the three volumes is because the volume at the Point of Control itself is not counted in the Above/Below volumes. In other words, the Volume Above POC (for example) is only the volumes above the Point of Control price and does not include the volume at the POC itself.

Thank you for the clarification. Maybe you should update the Documentation and describe it like you did in your post. I understand that you just took the logic from Steidlmayer Book “TPOs Above / Bellow POC”, but with Volume it is different. Because Volume is not an exact number which could be read from the profile, like the TPO Count of the POC is. In the way that is designed now it has no statistical value. Because there is no Chart Value Statistics for the POC Volume (the poc volume not the Price) neither for the TPO POC Volume (the tpo poc volume not the Price). If I could have designed it: 1. there would be in addition the Volume of the POC and the TPO POC volume to be shown in the statistics 2. Or even better, I would not subtract the POC (TPO POC) Volume from the numbers. I would evenly distribute it to below and above volume. Now the volume would be comparable. This was the Idea behind it. I am trying to make this TPO charts better for all in the community. There are a lot of posts regarding this topic. I suppose you will come with the 75 USD per hour statement, as an answer. Anyhow, I won’t give up, because your product is still overall good, especially because of stability and speed.
