Hi,

I recently subscribed to SC with Service Package 5 and want to use it with IB account. I already know that there is no support for IB data issues but my question is about integration SC historical intraday data with IB intraday data. This is a quote from SC documentation:

"When Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> Allow Support for Sierra Chart Data Feeds is enabled and you are using the Sierra Chart Advanced Package, the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service is used for major futures contract symbols and US stock symbols, providing at least 5 years of historical Intraday data. The data from the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service is 10-15 minutes delayed. The most recent 10 to 15 minutes will still be downloaded from Interactive Brokers."

So my understanding is that intraday data should be constantly updated from SC data feed except the last 10-15 min. Is it correct? Because that's not what I'm seeing on the charts and the log file. Charts that use tick data are completely wrong unless I run "Delete and download Data", after which charts become correct.

My question is - how often is Sierra Chart Historical Data Service used?

PS. I'm using charts for ES futures.

Thank you.

Eventually we are going to remove Sierra Chart historical data support for Interactive Brokers. One reason is precisely what you are describing. There is inherently an inconsistency with this functionality. The simplest answer for us is just to say that it is not supported at all with Interactive Brokers.

If you want to fully and properly rely upon Sierra Chart data when using Interactive Brokers you need to use one of these data feeds documented here:
Real-Time Exchange Data Feeds Available From Sierra Chart

Then in this case the data fully comes from Sierra Chart.
