I am trying to create trailing buy stops/sell stops which I am using on Thinkorswim in SC. I cannot seem to get the chase limit order to work as intended. Ex: Simple moving average. I want to buy when price crosses the SMA with a trailing buy of say 4 ticks. That means if price dives straight through the simple moving average by 8 ticks and then bounces back above the SMA, I would have triggered a buy 4 ticks below. Same applies if opposite (price is below SMA, and I want to short it with a trailing sell). Is this doable? |

Sierra Chart does have a Trailing Stop order type. Refer to the information here: Order Types: Trailing Stop However it sounds as though you want to use an automated entry based upon studies? Thank you for your quick reply! Yes, you are right. I am trying to trigger a trailing buy stop/sell stop from the spreadsheet system for trading study. The trailing stop are working fine as an attached order, but I would like to use it as an entry. Is this possible? |
