I am running one instance of SC, I am using IB for real time data, and SC for historical data.
In the newer versions of SC this doesn`t seem to work anymore.
In older versions of SC, under Data/Trade Service settings there used to be an option for Historical data service settings and then "Use SC Historical data service for Historical Data" instead of the primary data source. Where is this option gone in SC 1084?

This option has been removed.

The Sierra Chart Historical Data is used automatically for the symbols listed in File >> Find Symbol that the Sierra Chart Historical Data service has data for. If you are using one of those symbols and you do not get the data from the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service, which would be indicated in the Message Log, then let us know what the symbol is.

For other symbols you need to install another copy of Sierra Chart on your system and set it to use the Sierra Chart Historical Data Service. Here are the instructions:

so for displaying the symbol $DECQ I really have to install another copy of SC?
can you tell me in what version this has been removed? Would prefer to run the last version where this was still supported.

Yes, you definitely do for that particular symbol.

We are not completely sure of the exact version this changed in. Probably about 10-15 versions ago. You may need to go back to version 1070 or earlier.

Have a look on the What Is New page:
http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/new.html

The reason for this change, is that it makes Sierra Chart easier to use because the downloading of historical data from alternate sources is automatically managed and handled in a consistent way.

You really should use a separate copy of Sierra Chart .
