Looking at ES historical chart (Day), I expect a new daily bar created when the evening session starts. It is now 2020-05-28 9:30pm EST. I have 2 installations of SC (on different machines) T Installation 1 has the live bar as 5-29-2020 as I'd expect. Installation 2 has the live bar as 5-28-2020 - the bar is updating and the price is correct as I watch it. Its just that a new bar has not been created. I did not notice that the session times are different between the two charts (though they are grayed out since they are historical charts). So my question is how can this be? Is there a setting somewhere that I should look at? |

I see If this is not enabled, what is the logic for new daily bars? When is one created? (Referring to "SC Data - All Services") |

Hi,I often had problems the last 3 years because I want to have the usual candles start time for higher timeframes >2h, as usual with most brokers and markets. But I do not live ET but CET. Firstly, it is difficult to find that you should check off “apply intraday session to intraday chart” so that all markets have the same open time. I think you should really work on the following points, because at the moment I can't find a solution to my still existing problem: most markets focus on NY close ET time in terms of bar time. I am CET. but I would like to have my time displayed. But then I have the problem that the candle times >2h are not displayed correctly. It is not good that the >daily is based on the 24h mode of your own time zone. i think you should definitely add an additional option, so: -own time zone -time zone of the candle time Regarding your last email, I now have to enter the open time for all symbols individually. with the 30 markets that I trade in parallel, I simply don't have the time to do this. In addition, errors often creep in here. I think Sierrachart is great and I do a lot with it, but this issue is not acceptable so far because: What if I want to trade gaps but just don't see a gap on a higher timeframe because it's complicated due to the above problem. I have to check Tradingview for the candle times and they have very good offers at the moment. Please be so kind and solve this issue by an additional option as mentioned above, as ET time ist the ruling timezone for most markets. Thank you I think the fastest solution would be an additional option within: chart settings-session times->below chart data type: "set timezone for historical chart same as exchange" to yes . The bartime for intraday chart is already adjustable with Session/evening start time. So you just have to work on the historical chart settings. And if someone really trades many different markets with really different timezones, as Dax40 and then Nasdaq, these people can use your mentioned symbol settings. But it would be easier if we had the option to select the bartime timezone for CME,EUREX etc. each regarding the historical chart bar time. Date Time Of Last Edit: 2025-04-18 20:06:01

You can set a Global Time Zone that all charts will use by default. And you can change each chart to have a different time zone if you want. There is no limitation, at all, as to what time zone you are viewing the data in. It is completely your choice. Refer to the following: Time Zone Setting Chart Settings: Time Zone (List) (Chart >> Chart Settings >> Session Times menu) The time zone that is set for a chart defines the Session Times that are used for the Intraday Data. As long as the Bar Period is less than 1 day, the data is put together from the Intraday data. So again, you have complete control over the session times are that used for a chart. Refer to the following: Chart Session Times If you change to a daily or higher timeframe, then the data is displayed based on the "Historical" data, which gives just the Open/High/Low/Close/Volume for the day as defined by the exchange. If you want to use the same parameters from one chart to another, then it is best to duplicate the chart that is setup as you want it. Refer to the following: Using Chart Templates: Duplicating Charts / Template Charts Everything you want to do can be done in Sierra Chart. -- Please do not post on a 5 year old thread.
