This problem has to do with how the Interactive Brokers data feed works. For accurate data and charting, we recommend using the Sierra Chart Futures data feed: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php What you can do for now is right-click before the bar with the large volume and select Delete Data and Download. Interactive Brokers True Real Time Data does not provide accurate bid volume and ask volume which are necessary for some of the studies being used.

are you sure? i made this test. 1st pic: i use RECORD TRUE REAL-TIMEDATA IN INTRADAY CHARTS volume: 2738 bid vol: 1447 ask vol: -1291 2nd pic:: i DID not use RECORD TRUE REAL-TIMEDATA IN INTRADAY CHARTS volume: 2988 bid vol: 817 ask vol: -2171 3th pic: thinkorswim volume: 2738 so, that is my reason to believe the data in "ECORD TRUE REAL-TIMEDATA IN INTRADAY CHARTS" are accurate, arent they. a have not been able to get bid/ask vol in thinkorswim but when i can see the volume are the same in bouth, it means the data are accurate. so, what do you say? where is the true? Bid Volume and Ask Volume are not accurate with Interactive Brokers True Real Time data. This we are 100% certain of. The volume over a period of time may be accurate. But not Bid Volume and Ask Volume. This is clearly documented here: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/IB.php#TrueRealTimeData For accurate market data use the Sierra Chart Real-time And Historical Futures Data feed: http://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/SierraChartRealTimeFuturesStockDataFeed.php Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Monkey Bars the study will allow you to also use candles/ bars etc The study vs the chart type has more options Also, if you are wanting to use Volume Profile - do not trust it. TOS does not have true tick data, they receive it in blocks The nodes are not even close to being accurate at any setting https://www.bigmiketrading.com/thinkorswim/26078-volume-market-profile.html Date Time Of Last Edit: 2014-01-22 21:51:58

thanks to everyone for explanation. i did not know that. i thought if the volume 2738 is correct and i make bid vol 1447 +ask vol 1291 which is 2738 and this is correct, so i just thought bid vol and ask vol is also correct. i did not think this about regular datafeed from IB (not TRUE REAL-TIMEDATA IN INTRADAY CHARTS) i thought this just about TRUE REAL-TIMEDATA IN INTRADAY CHARTS. so, once again - thanks for this explanation. anyway, once again this my question: if this case is on (i have no tick data but when i will see it i will check if this is going to happened. if somebody has tick data, pls check this case. if yes > then > how can be possible the GROWING (long) bar has been traded for DECREASING (selling) bid price?
