Hi Support Team,

please can you clarify the following for me?

1. I am currently receiving a data feed trough my broker. If I switch to the new SC data feed does this still mean I receive the feed from them for execution?
2. Does it also mean I have two copies running from Sierra, which ultimately would improve system performance?
3 . Would I pay extra for this copy?

1. If you use the Sierra Chart Real-time and Historical Futures data feed, you will still use the connection to your trading service for order execution.

2. No. You will have one copy. This is explained here:

3. You do need a direct Sierra Chart account to use the Sierra Chart data feed:

Let me ask one more question: if I'm using the new continuous contract on the SC feed, and it has rolled over to the new month. In this case, if I put on an order, how would my broker feed know this trade is on the new month, not the old month?

Thanks!

The rollover to a new contract month has to be manually done unless you have enabled Chart >> Chart Settings >> Automatically Perform Futures Symbol Rollover.

In either case, the symbol is set to the specific contract month and year. It is very clear what month you are trading.

I'm confused. If I'm using continuous contract on the SC feed that you just added, I still have to manually rollover, or enable Chart >> Chart Settings >> Automatically Perform Futures Symbol Rollover?

The second part of my question is: how do I know the SC feed is in sync with the broker feed?

Yes. This is correct.

Once you are using the Sierra Chart real-time data feed, the broker/trading service provided data feed becomes irrelevant.

Why does it matter whether it is in sync or not? This question also is subjective and not completely clear.

The main question is whether you are getting accurate and timely data. In the case of the CME, this comes straight from the CME exchange. We use direct and low latency CME connectivity.

You are not going to get a more efficient and direct connection than what we offer.
