Alert not firing to email if it has a * in it

Is it normal that alerts don't fire if they have a custom value in for the character such as the " * " asterisk? I have had a few alerts not fire emails, but that's the only commonality. Thanks CHadly |

An asterisk is definitely not allowed as part of an email address, so if you have an asterisk in your email address you will definitely not receive the email associated with the alert, but the alert itself should still work properly. Still, if the above is the case then fix the email address to a proper address and see if everything is working properly from there.
