I'm using this study on my internals chart to change the background to green if positive and red if negative. currently it DOES change the background, but only for that period of time the criteria was met. I would like the entire background to switch to green if positive and red if negative, not spliced up historically, as looks a little too noisy. I hope this makes sense. It's definitely possible that I have misinterpreted the study settings and this actually is possible, so I apologize if that's the case. anyway, I've attached my chart.

follow up question - Is it possible for lines drawn with the line tool lay underneath the main price graph? in these same charts, i'd like my "zero" line to be underneath, not on top of them. thank you

This is not supported unless you use the Advanced Custom Study Interface and Language.

Do you want it according to the state of the last candle?

If YES it is nonsensical to redraw the constantly colored background bars. Then it would be better to solve this in another way. For example, using a graphic element that will be in the background and will change its color according to the condition. This saves a lot of memory. I will create a study for it today and you can download it from our forum in the evening.

Thank you! yes thats what i would like to happen. i use internals all day long and would like to have that whole chart be red or green so i can almost feel it better if that makes sense. in a perfect world, i'd like the intensity of the red or green to be higher the more positive/negative the internal is. sorry i just now saw this. thanks!

I have a problem with highlighting swing highs and lows that move above or under a VWAP.
When want to highlight background of a bar that is above VWAP it works.
But when i invers the commands to highlight Swing Highs under a VWAP it highlights everything.

Where is my mistake?

You have to remember that when a Subgraph is not displayed it has a value of zero (0). Therefore, when you ask to display the background when the Swing Low is less than the VWAP, you are getting everywhere that the value is 0 along with the other items you want. You would need to add an option to exclude zeros - AND(ID7.SG1 < ID15.SG1, ID7.SG1 <> 0).

Hello John,

thank you very much. This makes sense. It works now.

Is there a way to take the swing highs and low from the ZigZag Indicator? There is no subgraph for the high and the low to define them in the color bar based on alert condition.

The Problem is that, the swing low high study defines the lows and highs delayed. While the ZigZag indicator works in real time.

Is there any other study that im not finding ?

You would have to use a Spreadsheet Study in combination with the Zig Zag study to get the information you are wanting.
