Does anyone have a readily understandable auto trader model spreadsheet? Would be very helpful. Thanks |

The issue is there are so many different settings and approaches that I don't think one model will suffice. IMO a good project would be to create a single chartbook with a series of examples, e.g. crossover with fixed stops and targets, crossover with trailing stop, crossover with reversal, etc. that people could use to learn from. In lieu of such an undertaking, if you provide the basic concept then I can create a model for that concept, which you can develop further. For example, what type of entry trigger, stops, targets, trailing stops, reversals, trading times? etc. I would have to create a chartbook with all of the studies included, so you will have to be specific. Also, I have found sharing spreadsheet based chartbooks to be problematic in the past, i.e. the person on the other end couldn't get them working for reasons I don't know because I'm not there. |

Sure know about spreadsheet problems. LOL. Maybe I've got to go with ascil. See enclosed screen shot for my indicators. I get the indicators to show the entries and exits but cannot get the orders in fast enough by hand. Hence the auto trader idea. Thoughts appreciated. dj |

Hope you had a nice Christmas. Do you have a trading spreadsheet for ES that I could use as a model? A simple SMA 8 crossing from below (for a long entry) and from above a SMA 15 (for a short entry) would be great. I'd like to have it generate on a position entry a bracket order pair (OCO) for a take profit of 3 points and a stop loss of 3 points. Also would like to see how a trailing stop might be coded. Thanks very much. Have a great New Year |
