Anyone knows why does my trade not execute when I place a trade? I am on my demo account. I execute a trade on market price but it does not execute. However, it shows "Market held" which I am not sure what that is. P.S. Sorry to upload my image without following instruction. The "market held" thing is not on my DOM anymore so this is the only way to show it. |

How exactly did you enter those orders? With the Flatten command?

Look at the image I re-uploaded. I circled the place where I don't know what would that be called. Do people normally use this to execute trade? What would be the best way to execute trade? |

We see you are using Trade Simulation Mode. We are not able to reproduce this even when using the particular Time in Force that you are. Can you currently reproduce this condition?

Today I tried to execute trades in live environment. This is what it shows. I missed some great opportunities.

Every result makes sense based upon what you are doing. In the first case you set the Time In Force to something which is not supported by the trading service. In the next case, you set the Time in Force to Send Order at Time. What is not clear? Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. I am seeing this same issue today. I am using it in SIM mode and many trades went through today but now when I place a market order the DOM fills with entry and OCO orders for target and stops but the position is never filled just says HELD. Is there a limit to usage during a trading day or limit to total contracts etc?? I have also rebooted and I still get the same action Thanks Doug Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-04-09 18:55:22

There are a few places where limits can be entered, but nothing that should result in an order showing "Held". For these items, refer to the following: Global Profit/Loss Management Global Symbol Settings: Use Global Trade Position Limit What symbol are you trading? Is the market closed for that symbol? I've reviewed bot links for global profit and loss and goblal symbol settings and I don't see a variable that would effect my trading today. I dropped to 1 contract too see if that was an issue and it still gave me the held issue. I was at a profit at the time this issue arose... I am using ES contract. it was during the RTH time frame that this issue arose. |

You have the "Time in Force" set to "Send Order at Time". If you want the order to go in immediately, change the Time in Force to something else. Refer to the following: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Main >> TimeInForce (Time in Force): For the most reliable, advanced, and zero cost futures order routing, use the Teton service: Sierra Chart Teton Futures Order Routing Date Time Of Last Edit: 2024-04-10 16:57:16
