So if I have EURUSD in a few chartbooks, and in another I employ USDEUR, it would be nice for the copy drawing to recognise the same chart with the only difference being axis x -1. Is there a certain way to do this which allows drawings top replicate? Or not? |

If you are copying Chart Drawings to another chart, and that chart uses inverted pricing, the drawings are not going to match. There is not a solution to this.

As I thought, there is not a solution currently. Although the drawings just need to do the same *-1 calculation that the Y-axis does, I can pay to get this coded independently, unless you guys would incorporate the extra functionality and I send you the same money? Please bear in mind I've been an constant customer for 4+ years now and have made many suggestions which have improved Sierra's functionality on the user-end throughout.

This will be automatically supported in the next release. It was not difficult to implement. The invert calculation is 1.0/Price Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Other responses are from users. Try to keep your questions brief and to the point. Appreciated. Correct to assume the tweak is not in the current pre-release 1949?

I've had a chance to try and see what's wrong. The drawing is only copied one way - I think from master (as in where if it was drawn on this chart) to the daughter chart. This becomes of no use if you are using an arrangement of charts and do not want to try and tally up which is the master, which is inverted, etc etc. I think one flaw maybe because this fix was only attributed to 'invert prices' which one can access via the "Chart Settings" menu by pressing F5. Inverting gives completely different values for the chart, and so if replicating, inverting and non-inverting etc, this can get messier than: Just using Chart Study - "Multiply Bars by -1" This gives a very clean output, where the axis and chart is just flipped vertically. Prices can also sync up quickly in the user's brain when referring to "-0.8000" is simply "0.8000" on the real chart. Using the simpler checkbox for 'Inverting prices', or even the study along the lines of "Divide Charts by 1", "0.8000" would be "1.2500". So I wonder if the implementation was applied to the "Multiply Bars by -1" study, the drawings would copy between charts, inverted or not, (using the *-1 study as inversion definition here to clarify), with minimal work from yourselves. This would then finally replicate the current functionality of "Chart Copy Drawings", which does not discriminate when drawing/editing drawings on ANY of the defined charts. Sorry for the extra hassle but this will reduce the anxiety for traders who wish to invert charts at will whilst still seeing the same objects as original charts |

We need time to review this and think about the best way to do this.

Appreciated. I have also been thinking and just wanted to note that for full function, Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings 2 >> Show Chart Drawings for Different Symbols Should not have any bearing on the replication between Charts of the same symbol but Y-axis modified/inverted. I.e. do NOT recognise Y-axis modification as indicative of a different symbol. Just thought I'd add that here. |

Hello Engineering, I found another thing to highlight this inconsistency. Vertical lines will copy over to inverted charts "Multiply Bars by -1 study applied", even with "Show Chart Drawings for Different Symbols" unlicked, in a normal way (i.e. you can modify/delete from the original or non-orignal chart it was drawn on, and changes are reflected in all relevant charts). This shows that the program does recognise the same symbol, and can print things when off the Y-axis alone. It just cannot figure out what to do with the X-axis, as of yet. |

All we can do is what we already supported and that is with the Invert Prices option in Chart Settings. Copying drawings between charts with that option does work properly. We cannot do anything more.
