Is data shared among different instances of sierrachart? If data is updating without being connected does it mean the instance without live is somehow connected to the instance with live data ?

Hi, can some one please help me with this? Thank you The instances are running in their own different folders. Only one is connected to the data services, but when closed and opened, the second one (which is NOT connected to the data service) somehow gets data update. How is this happening? Data sharing is supported and here is the relevant documentation for this: Using DTC Server for Data and Trading in Another Sierra Chart Instance Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Therefore, you just need to disable the DTC server in Global Settings >> Data/Trade Service Settings >> SC Server Settings. If data is updating without being connected does it mean the instance without live is somehow connected to the instance with live data ? Yes it sounds like it based on your description.

DTC server is not enabled though, but it still seems to be somehow updating though not live. Every time I close and open the instance with no data connection I get newer data/candles.

Make sure each instance of Sierra Chart is using its own separate data folder. You need to enable this setting in each instance of Sierra Chart: General Settings Window: Always Use 'Data' Folder within Main Folder (Global Settings >> General Settings >> Paths >> Files and Folder Paths) Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. That box "Always use Data Folder within Main Folder" is checked already. But it is still happening. How?

When disconnected from data service, am I using local data or is data still coming from the server? There is an option under Data settings "NO Service (data)" If I enable this would it completely disconnect me from any data. If not, is there another way to disconnect from any data updates? You just need to disconnect Sierra Chart from the data feed and it will stop. We see you are running some older versions of Sierra Chart. Update those to the current version because those versions may support an older method of data sharing which is no longer supported.
