You need to open a chart for that symbol. This is due to how the CQG system works.

so if I have a trade symbol in the 'Trade and Current Quote Symbol' box I should also open a chart?

Yes you do. So that there is a market data subscription for it if you are using it only as a Trade Only symbol.
