Hello,

Latest v1878 breaks "market depth" study. I have 1 chart that has 2 of these studies. One is regular: pretty much default settings to show depth in different shades. Input 8 is set to 0. Another study shows outliers only with Input 8 set to 300 and has different color shades to represent value ranges. Under v1878 behaves like it has "Hide" switch turned on.

Best regards

Can you please attach a screenshot and/or the chartbook that shows the problem you are stating. We are not sure where the problem is.

When we adjust the values of the Graph Only Quantities Greater or Equal To input, we see the same effect as has always been the case - which is that the range of the Market Depth changes, as this establishes a new low value, therefore the colors look more washed out, as the percentages that define the colors is being applied to this new color range. This may appear different in this latest release from the previous version, as we did some changes to the colors to ensure that they use the full range of the colors, which could create a more washed out effect, but only when comparing to the releases since the new color options were added.

Hi John,

I switched back to 1877. Under 1878 I wouldn't see orange and cyan areas for ES that are set to show 300+ depth.
Please find attached today's ES chart under 1877. I will check again v1878 after market close. In a meant time, perhaps, settings of that disappearing study might help you to recreate environment under 1878.

Thanks again

Can you please attach that chartbook with the study on the chart so I can see the settings for the study.

We understand why you are having this problem. It is related to a change we made to take advantage of the full range of each color within the new ranges.

Thank you John for quick reply. Any recommendations in connection with new behaviour of the v1878 environment?
Please note that my intention for 2nd Market Depth study is to highlight areas of interest based on current size of the bid/ask. It is sort of "Large Volume Trade Indicator" but for resting orders.

Thanks

Yes, actually. Just change your Percent Color Thresholds to 0, 0, 0. This will give you the same effect.

In 1878, we changed the behavior of the Minimum Volume Percent Intensity to affect each color range, rather than just cut off the bottom of the entire range of values. This gives you a broader range of colors and ensures that some numbers that may be at the bottom of a particular range are not washed out.

Sorry we have been behind in the documentation. We will try to get this done today.

We have gotten the documentation updated to give the information on how the colors are calculated with the most recent release. We will expand on this documentation to give more examples and display the actual colors over the next few weeks. You will find the information here:
