Hello,
I really hope you can assist me:
Last Friday I wanted to trade the unemployment report. I did not know if the market was going to shoot up or bottom out, so I set up a 10 contract OCO trade with a trailing stop three ticks above the trading price at 7:28 and also a 10 contract OCO trade three ticks below the trading price with a trailing stop.
When trading occurred the next minute, the market shot downward triggering my sell order and I immediately was filled, then the trailing stop was hit as the market reversed immediately. This is where the problem occured: Instead of triggering my buy order and then either hitting my target or hitting my trailing stop, it triggered the buy order and reversed and bottomed out. It did not hit my trailing stop and cost me thousands of dollars. My question is why? What did I do incorrectly when I set that up. I thought by having an OCO both above and below the currently trade, I could not get hurt, but I got killed. Attched is the trade record. Please assist!

You posted the Message Log which is irrelevant to this. We deleted it for clarity. What needs to be looked at is the Trade >>Trade Activity Log>> Trade Activity. Here is the documentation for the Trade Activity Log
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_TradeActivityLog.php

Please review the documentation for it.

While you clearly understand what you have set up, it is confusing to us and unclear. It is really best that you look at the Trade Activity Log for these orders in question to see exactly what has happened. You are in the best position to analyze this yourself. It is within our discretion, whether we will take the time to analyze this. It does cost us time and money to analyze this.

One thing to consider is that when the market is moving fast, a Stop Attached Order can get rejected and not protect your position. This is documented here:
https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_AttachedOrders.html#AttachedOrdersInLiveEnvironment

Sierra Chart does have a feature though to take you out of the market if the Stop gets rejected. By default this is off.

We also noticed that you are running an older version of Sierra Chart. This is not really relevant to the particular problem, but it is always a good idea to keep up-to-date.

If after looking at the order activity in the Trade >>Trade Activity Log>> Trade Activity tab, you have a particular question about the meaning of one of the lines, we can help with that.

Generally with these kinds of scenarios the most likely problem is orders not getting handled as expected by the server.

We don't want you to get the wrong idea, we are here to help, but we just ask that you try to do your best working through the Trade Activity Log to determine what has gone wrong and if you still need help from us, then provide us the relevant portions so we can see what the issue was.

If there are any issues with Sierra Chart, we will definitely take care of those. However, at this point in time, we are not aware of any outstanding problems, especially running on TT.

- Can you please explain how this can be? A trailing stop loss is designed to protect me! If it is rejected, why even have one? Also, how does the the feature work to take you out of the market if the stop gets rejected? Does it take me out at market price? How do I enable that feature?

Thank you.

Disregard, my last question. I found the answer.

Follow up question: Since I use TT Feed, will the Auto Fill work?

Are you referring to: Global Settings >> General Trade Settings >> Auto-Send Market Order On Rejected Stop Attached Order? If so, this will work with TT FIX.

On the Auto-send Market Order on Rejected Stop Attached Order, does it fill at the same location as where I had my stop order? For instance, if the market is moving extremely quickly, can I expect a fill within a few ticks of where I placed my stop order?
