I need help urgently. I previously used Ninja trader and never had any issue with setting stop limit with 1 tick allowance for slippage. Now, I set stop limit for short CL at 73.99. My order was filled at 73.90.Before setting stop limit order. i set offsets at Set windown at 1 tick for everything. I clicked mouse right button at 73.99. There was stop limit along with price set on main window. Order was set and slippage was 9 ticks. Yesterday I suffered slippage of 6 ticks. I I enter mostly with stop limit hence I need to once and for all fix this issue to have slippage of no more than 1 tick. How can I do it and how I set stop limit order to achieve this. Thank you. |

Make sure the order you are using is actually a Stop-Limit order and how to set the Limit offset is explained here: Order Types: Stop-Limit The other thing is make sure you are setting the Stop-Limit Order Limit Offset on the correct Trade Window: Basic Trading and the Trade Window: Trade Window Settings Not Applying to Chart or Trading DOM Sierra Chart Support - Engineering Level Your definitive source for support. Thank you. I was placing Stop limit on the drop out window and setting price at which I want to enter. Then I set all offsets at Set section at 1 tick. Still, I got filled 6 and 9 ticks away which never happened with Ninja. While using Ninjatrader, I was basically placing stop buy or stop sell and there is option directly on DOM to set maximum allowed slippage which I was setting at one tick. Now, could you please help me with this issue by explaining how I can set either Stop Buy or Stop Sell to limit my slippage to 1 tick. If it is possible on Sierra Chart. Otherwise I wonder if I did everything correctly with Stop limit set up, because I was told that I was entering with Stop buy and sell, not stop limit and I was filled at the proce I set when it wa snot so. I always use either buy stop or sell stop or plain limit order hence it is one time issue. Thank you |

I see that on Main trade window Stop price means where is my stop loss is. I was setting it actually at the price of entry not stop loss. I actualluy have my stop loss and take profit set in advance in targets section. So, I set everything this way. I set Stop Limit on Main Window orders types. I set Stop loss price at 0.00, because I have stop loss and take profit set at Targets. Now, at Set section I set Stop-Limit Order Limit Offset >> Primary Orders at 1 tick. Is this correct way to set Stop limit with maximum 1 tick slippage from where I set my buy or sell order? Do I set stop limit order same way as regular buy or sell stop order by clicking mouse on the right above or bellow the price I want to enter?

With these parameters I set confirmation and clicked above the price I wanted to entered on Simulator. Confirmation says it is Stop order. Not stop limit.

Okay we understand what the problem is. You need to set the Chart DOM to use Stop-Limit orders. Refer to the instructions here: Global Trade Settings Windows: Chart DOM Settings It is currently set for just Stop Market orders.
