Hello, I am using the trial and I have purchased the 5 dollar live future data and have the CME data feed activated however I am not getting real time data. It is just static and appears to be updated up to 10 minutes ago.

My data config is set for "100 real time symbols" (which symbols are those?) and it won't let me change it so cash indicies even when I deactivate. I am trying to view charts of ES futures.

Can you please help me understands what's going wrong.

Up to this point I have used NinjaTrader with an account and Dorman Trading however I do not have this set up in Sierra Chart. I thought this was not necessary for the trial and would only affect me moving forward by having to pay higher exchange fees. I know you spend a lot of time helping people with this topic but I am very confused. Appreciate your help.

Well, if you still have that account you can connect Sierra Chart to it to authorize the CME data. Refer to:

And in any case the higher priced 115 USD/month CME related exchange fees are free for the first month anyway. So you can activate those right now. And just deactivate them immediately after . They will remain active until the end of the month. There is no harm in doing this.

We are not allowed to provide the real-time data using the lower-priced CME exchange fees . Those require a funded trading account. And another reason we do not want to allow that even if we could, is that a user then would naturally think going forward they could continue to get the data the following month at those lower prices when they cannot.

Thanks for you patience. The data through NT came from CQG Continuum. I have already activated the exchange fee and paid the 5 dollars for data so I'm still confused what else I need to do. Are you saying I have to connect my CQG account (using CQGWebiAPI?) When I tried to do that for Investor R/T they told me I had to pay a fee to be able to do that. Can I not trial the software with real time future data for the 5 dollars? Thank you.

We have activated the CME exchange (The 115.50 USD one) on your account so you will begin to receive the real-time data within 5 minutes. If not let us know. The current symbol is ESZ18.

You can open a chart through File >> Find Symbol.

We wish it were not so complicated but these are the rules. And exchanges are getting more and more tight with their data.

We just had to complete a long complex form for the ICE in regards to market data and we do not even know the outcome of that until they review.

Ok thank you. I am just starting to put everything together. So the exchange connection that I had activated is only for having a connected trading account. You activated the one that is more expensive for no connected account. However as long as a I deactivate by the end of the month I will not be charged the 115. Lastly is my account at Dorman able to be used with Sierra?

We already deactivated it so that it does not renew.

Yes your account at Dorman can be used with Sierra Chart as long as it uses CQG or Rithmic or TT or CTS.
