Hello, I have Sierra 1785 connected to TWS. First "problem" is that connecting Sierra to TWS I have to confirm by Yes twice. First confirmation table disappears after pushing yes and immediately appears another same confirmation table and have to push yes once again. Second and main problem is this: I have an open position in NQ with set SL and PT. I leave it like this, disconnect from TWS and shut down Sierra. During the night the position has finished either hitting PT or SL - confirmed in TWS. But when opening Sierra again I can see the position still opened but without SL or PT. I can close it only by pushing Flatten but when I push flatten automaticaly is opened oposite position (real one) in TWS and I happen to have position in market but without SL or PT. Then I have to push flatten once again and the position is finally closed in Sierra and TWS. Can you help me ? |

Hello, I have checked both alternatives you have offered and everything is allright. So I have contacted IB support and they insist it is matter of 3rd party SW. Here is their reply: "We provide functions via the API which allows third party programs to query what are your current positions, what are your current open orders. It is at the responsibility of the third party to properly monitor/manage and view these details by using the available functions at hand. How to monitor current positions? IB offers several methods which can be queried by a third party. The following URL outlines all of the available functions: https://interactivebrokers.github.io/tws-api/positions.html How to monitor current open orders? IB offers a method called reqOpenOrders() which will relay back all of the current open orders you have. https://interactivebrokers.github.io/tws-api/open_orders.html Please note there are no current issues with regards to IB's APis on how to monitor current positions and open orders. I will encourage you to contact Sierra Charts again to help understand what they can do to assist you with their software to ensure it is properly monitoring these details. Regards, Angel P Senior Specialist, Technical Assistance Center Interactive Brokers" Pls. let me know what can I do. It really happens only when I shut down both programms and reopen them next day after the position has finished. During the day all works fine. Regards |
