Mouse & drawing tools disconnect

This is getting very frustrating. My mouse is sometimes 1/4 to 1/2 inch away from drawing, very hard to control where the drawing goes, as if it had a mind of it's own.

If you are referring to the vertical position, then do the following: Uncheck the Tools >> Auto Snap options which are documented here: https://www.sierrachart.com/index.php?l=doc/doc_Tools.html#Snapping Disable Chart >> Chart Settings >> Advanced Settings >> Adjust Tool Values to Tick Size.
