I noticed an alert when starting up SC that advises CTS users change settings from "Fast Trade" to "Smart Trade". I wanted to know what does this mean: Why the change? What do we gain, and what do we lose by changing the settings?

Thank you!

Our understanding is it reduces the number of bid and ask updates. However, all of the trades are still sent.

Does it affect accuracy of bid/ask data, and calculation of delta volume?

We have not checked on this.

This is very important for me to know as well.

Also, does this suggestion apply to the CTS LIVE or SIM server, or both?

I´m interested too. Why should we change this setting? What happens to the calculation of delta volume? What happens if we do not change the settings?

All we can say is the request was made by CTS to reduce bandwidth. Ultimately it is up to you if you want to make the change.

One of the things about CTS that attracts users, is unfiltered unbuffered data. Not what I like to hear. They should fix their bandwidth problems instead of asking users to contribute their own bandwidth.

And apparently we've lost the 10 levels of depth and are now limited to 5. Not cool CTS.

Our expectation is that these changes are only temporary until CTS can improve the market data delivery.

You also will have the option coming in about another week or so to subscribe to our own data feed for market data. This will include every tick with efficient data delivery.

A question about this setting:

Does changing this setting take effect by simply clicking "Okay" in the Data/Trade settings? Or do you have to disconnect and reconnect?

You do need to reconnect to the data feed/server.
