Possible to draw a vertical line that is always 60 bars behind the current bar?

Yes but probably would require custom programming.

Couldn't they use the Color Background Based on Alert Condition study, use the Vertical Bar and a formula that referenced a True condition 60 bars ahead? Set it to YES = Automatically Clear from Before "Number of Bars to Calculate, and Number of Bars to Calculate back 60 (59 if you're including the current bar). I just did a quick test that worked fine when refreshed but wouldn't refresh when a new bar formed for some reason. I'm sure if you play with it or Engineering jumps back in they could tell you how to fix it. -- Scott |

=ID0.SG23[60]<>ID0.SG23[59] It will paint the bar correctly 60 bars back but won’t recalculate automatically on the next bar. The painted bar goes away when price advances one bar forward as it should but a new bar vertical line won’t paint unless I manually refresh the study. — Scott Date Time Of Last Edit: 2018-07-19 12:20:41

For my own edification as well as the original poster's problem, can you offer any input on what's wrong with the formula above or the study that would prevent the original poster from accomplishing what they are looking for? I've coded plenty of Simple Alerts but haven't used the forward looking bar counts before. Thanks much! -- Scott |
