Hi. When using the study 'Period OHLC- Variable Period' to calculate for a previous time period (eg 1 week or month) by not using the current period, the line will only extend back to the start of the day (00:00) and not the start of the session. Would it be possible to add the ability to display over the current session?

Yes. This is controlled by adjusting the Session Times:
Chart Session Times

This study is always going to rely on the Session Times settings.

My session times have been adjusted. Values for previous periods only extend to 00:00, not the start of the session. Please see screenshot.

Thanks.

That image is too complicated. It is not useful to us. Tell us the first 4 Input settings for that study.

Here is an example of it with a weekly period: http://www.sierrachart.com/image.php?Image=153073199190.png

Below is a link to the chart without any of the other studies on. I have also uploaded a screenshot of the study settings.

As you can see the line does not start at the start of the session, but at 00:00. In the Chart Settings I have session times of 18:00:00 to 17:59:59, NY time zone.

Ideally what I am looking to do is display the prior week high and low over all of the current week. This can't be done presently as setting 'Number of Days to Calculate' will either result in a line that doesn't cover all of the current week, or extends beyond the current week into the previous week.

Thanks

You really need to increase the Number of Days to calculate to at least 7 days and we will make sure that when you are limiting calculation time tightly like this, that the start time will follow the session times. This will be out in the next release.

Also since the start of the week normally is considered Sunday, the start time would have to be the start of trading on Sunday. It could not even be earlier because there is no trading.

Thank you. In the chart you linked to in post #4 what draw style did you use? It appears as though each of the three lines is separate between the weeks. When I use the 'Line' draw style each line will connect up between the weeks (usually with a very steep line).

In v1778 the same study and settings listed in post #5 are giving a different output (see linked image below), which doesn't reflect the settings in the study (settings are the same as in the attached screenshot in post #5). 'Numbers of Days to Calculate' is set at 3 but it's drawing over at least 5 days.

I appreciate in post #7 that you've suggested increasing the number of days to calculate, but I'd like to limit the lines on the chart. I'd simply like to be able to draw on the graph for the current session - the current/previous open and close for the day, week and month.

It would be great to be able to draw the previous month/week open and close from the start of the previous month/week, but that is probably being too specific. Having the setting 'Numbers of Days to Calculate' is probably sufficient for most.

Thanks again.

There was a calculation problem with Number of Days to Calculate input. This will be solved in the next release.
