I'm in Don Miller's trading room and he has a proprietary indicator setup, but one of his indicators displays colors based on alert conditions from other studies. I'd like to figure out what that indicator is so that I can set one up and have it show the condition of other studies in other windows. I've included a picture of it:

I'm trying to create my own version of this and would like to know how to create a grid of colored blocks based on my own study comparisons.

Each row would need to be in its own Chart Region, IOW 7 Chart Regions. Use a separate instance of the Color Bar Based On Alert Condition study for each color in each row, using the Background draw style. This means ~3 instances per Chart Region. |

I have a follow up here - How do I create such a grid referencing a variety of market internals (TICK-NYSE, NISS-NYSE, etc.). I can't find a study that allows me to reference them directly or by referencing a quote board. DO I really need to set up a chart of each and every one of these?

Yes, then use an instance of the Study/Price Overlay study for each on the grid's chart to be able to reference their output.

That's got to be a huge resource hog. I'd like to set reference, say 8-10 different indicators and compare them via studies. Not interested in tracking the indicators directly, just those relationships. I'm surprised (ok, only a little) that I have to do it this way.

Then just overlay the studies from each chart.

Yep, just adding a lot of charts now, which I'll minimize once the studies are set up.

This is an old thread. It did end up being a color background thing. I eventually created a 6 region color background using study price overlay to source data from a bunch of sub graphs and different charts. It took weeks and eventually I scrapped the whole idea. It was a neat project though.
