Hello,

Yesterday I updated to version 1746 as I very interested in the forward curve functionality.
I am running 3 instances and since the update instance 1 is extremely slow and oscillating between not responding and responding.
The other 2 instances seem to be operating without a problem.

Provide us the Chartbook you have opened which is slow and we will see what we notice. Here are the instructions:

Do you know what version you were running previously?

Also the new Forward Curve study is still under development and does not draw anything yet.

I believe the previous version was 1716, or something thereabouts.

We think we may have stumbled upon the problem.

You are using the option Extend Until Future Intersection for a chart drawing. Disable that and we will see what we can do about this.

I have downloaded v.1749, however I can now not open sierra at all.
I get an Initialization error: Error creating the trade manager object.

We are unable to reproduce this or sure exactly what the problem is, but we did make a change that may solve this.

Run the Sierra Chart installer with this link:
https://www.sierrachart.com/downloads/SierraChartFileDownloader.exe

You can either install the Current Version or install the latest revision of the prerelease 1749, by selecting Prerelease from the Version list box on the installer.

I installed the pre-release 1749.
Unfortunately, nothing has changed. It remains very slow and becomes 'not responding' now and then.

Okay we need more time to do testing. For some things you can do in the short term, refer to help topic 30:
High CPU Usage | Inactive User Interface | Poor Performance | Long Time to Load Chart Data | Charts Reloading Often

One thing we would say though is you do have a high load Chartbook, and it could be that just because it is on the border of what can be handled based your system capabilities and Sierra Chart's design, that a slightly different build of the executable just simply created an obvious problem.

We still need time to analyze this from our side.

But do follow the information given in help topic 30 about what you can do to reduce the load.

Thanks.
I understand this and after reading topic 30 I have begun to create a new chartbook afresh. Two separate chartbooks actually, which should help.
What in particular is causing the heaviest load in your opinion as most things in there do provide great value to the chartbook that I am trying to achieve.

When there is a lot of complexity and content of the graphics in a given view of a chart, the load from drawing that chart will be high. This is what we are specifically going to be looking into.

Even for example increasing the bar spacing on the chart would help with something like this.

At this point we have a good idea of probably what is causing the problem. We expect this will be resolved in the next release. It is graphics related.
